flickr badge

I was trying to add a flickr badge to my sidebar, using the code from here http://www.flickr.com/badge.gne inserted into the "Arbitrary text or HTML" text in the available widgets thing.

It didn't work, I just got a load of HTML garbage. Have I done something wrong, or are flickr badges not allowed?

In short: I have no idea. It maybe that your theme doesn't handle these widgets very well, but then again I couldn't really say.

If you add the code again and leave it there so I can take a look at it I'll try to see what's going wrong.

Thanks, Chris - I can't access flickr at work and didn't have time to do it this evening. I'll try again tomorrow evening.

Goodness me! I had forgotten about this. Anyway, the codes from flickr for both the HTML and java badges are up on my blog, looking exactly like a lot of HTML garbage. They're right down at the bottom.

Hmm, that does look a mess. There's a problem with \ where it shouldn't be, but it also looks like the code isn't complete. I'd expect to see some <style> tags somewhere in there, and there aren't any.

Not to cast nasturtiums on your character, but did you copy and paste all the code?

I've just checked, and it says <-- start of flickr badge--> and <-- end of flickr badge --> so I must have done.

Interestingly, whilst I use the HTML code for the flash badge on www.rosamundi.org, I use a widget rather than the code on my (also WordPress) blog on that site. So I wonder if it's a WordPress issue?
